Kappa/Lambda Ratio
Balance between two antibody building blocks. A ratio drifting outside range suggests one plasma-cell line is producing more than the other. Higher results are the ones to watch. A common adult reference interval is 0.26–1.65 ratio.
Typical adult range
- Reference interval
- 0.26–1.65 ratio
- Often-cited tighter window
- 0.4–1.5 ratio
Standard adult laboratory reference interval. Your own lab's printed range is the one that applies to your result.
In more detail
Free light-chain balance. A rising ratio suggests clonal activity.
What commonly moves it
- Plasma-cell / paraprotein activityClonal light-chain production raises globulin and can suppress marrow output.
